This past February, Qube Wire’s global team met at The Residency Towers in Chennai for three days of celebration, learning, and planning. This was the 5th Wire Up annual meeting and our most successful yet.

Can you please give us an insight into the cinema-going habits and tastes of the Hungarian audience?

The covid epidemic, like everywhere else, has significantly damaged the cinema market in Hungary. After the closures, cinema audiences were slow to return. The reopening of cinemas was not uniform either, with the largest cinema chain in Hungary, Cinema City, only able to open weeks later than reopening was allowed.

Cinema in Southeast Asia has been evolving over the past decade with a rise in filmmaking and a demand for diverse content. From box office hits to independent films, Southeast Asian cinema has been making waves on the global stage, highlighting unique perspectives and cultural identities.
